Harold Baines grew up in the Eastern Shore town of St. Michaels, Maryland where he was first spotted by a White Sox recruiter when he was only playing little league. In 1977 he started his career as a first-pick draft for the Sox.
This soft-spoken but power-hitting lefty has been a favorite of sports fans both on and off the ball field. His career has taken him to many teams and cities where his record has thrived. These teams have included the Chicago White Sox, the Oakland Athletics, the Texas Rangers, and the Baltimore Orioles.
Baines is now back with the White Sox as a free agent where he is continuing his 22+ years of experience and maintains his impressive batting record.
