In this painting, the artist depicts two of his "neighbors." The great blue herons shown here, nest in Pinks Pond next to Wrights home overlooking Hambrooks Bay. Wright was commissioned by the Grand National Waterfowl Association to create the work after being choosen the Grand National Artist of the Year.
