About the Artist

George Wright George Wright, a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, is a native of Cambridge, Maryland on the Eastern Shore. A hereditary type of palsy may slow the artist's strokes, but does not detract from the incredible genius of his work.

His love of people and zest for life are readily apparent in his artwork. The artist's imagination is fired by tales and experiences of the watermen and lifestyles inherent to the Chesapeake Bay. Like Rockwell, his hero, Wright likes to tell a story through his paintings.

He was commissioned by the Babe Ruth Museum to do an original rendering of the "Sultan of Swat" which presently hangs in the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame. His most recent oil is a commemorative print (limited edition) honoring Baltimore Great Eddie Murray hitting his 500th career home run.
